The U10s were a little unlucky against a stronger Summerville side, in which Cian Costelloe (2), Niall McGuane (1) and Sean Campbell were our stars on the day.
The U12s were below par in this game as they lost 4,nil to neighbours, Corbally. A number of the players had played a School rugby game in Cork prior to turning out for the club. Those to shine were Luke Phayer, Liam OConnell and Jamie McMahon

The Juniors were below par in this game against St Pauls. St Pauls took the lead from a spot kick and Steve McDermott scored just a few minutes later to level, but that was as good as it got. Some slack defending and an overall lethargy showed in our efforts.
The U11s were in action on Saturday against Mungret/Regional. This was a very good performance and showed that the players are improving each time. Keepers Sam Gibson and Eion Sarsfield shared the keeping duties, while Cian Costelloe, Liam OConnell (1) and Thomas Hickey (1) were solid in defence. In midfield Eoin McGurran (1), Niall NcGuane, Matthew ODonovan Quane, Jamie McMahon, Callum ODwyer were at their best when used.Up front Stephen McMahon, Cathal Daffy (1), John McKeogh all played their part.
The U12s were unlucky to lose to Mungret/Regional, in Knockalisheen. In an entertaining game we let Mungret get a 2 goal lead before we started to play. We created a number of chances but failed to take them until mid way through the second period when Laim OConnell scored from the spot. This was a good overall effort with the players improving as the season goes on. Best were Luke Phayer, Luke McSweeny and Thomas Hickey.
Earlier the U10s played Aisling/Annacotty and in a very entertaing game the spoils were shared. Those to impress for Parkville were Sean Campbell in goal, Rian Quirke, Holly ONeill, Eoin Kirkland and Ben Kennedy. This squad is improving and it is recommended that if you have time on Saturday mornings to come and watch these young players. It is a very entertaining hour. What a game this was. First the home side raced into a 3,nil lead, but Liam OConnell, Cathal Daffy with a great header and Jamie McMahon saw us level by the short whistle. Liam OConnell put us in front before Granville leveled and then scored a late winner. Again a number of players played their part from start to finish, Sam Gibson and Eion Sarsfield are battling for the first choice as keeper. In defence Liam OConnell, Thomas Hickey and Cian Costelloe are playing very well in an effort to play as starters. Midfield sees Jamie McMahon, Eoin McGurran, Niall McGuane, Cathal Daffy, Matthew ODonovan Quane and Stephen McMahon all fighting for their place. Stephen Kelly and Callum ODwyer share the attacking duties.
This was a good effort from the Juniors, despite playing premier opposition. Mike Worthy gave us an early lead but we were 4,1 down at the short whistle. A number of great displays were not enough for us on the day. Will Birrane, Shane Treacy and Bob Collins tried to stem the one way flow for us.
An enjoyable game at Knockalsiheen, saw our U11s host Bridge Celtic. There were some great displays around the field. Tom Hickey (1) and Liam OConnell (1),were in control in defence, with Sam Gibson between the sticks. Jamie McMahon was our star in midfield with Eoin McGurran, while Stephen Kelly (2) and Cathal Daffy led the attack. John McKeogh (1) Cian Costelloe, Eion Sarsfield in goal and Niall McGuane all played their part in this game.
The U11s next game is away to Granville Rangers The U10s played Corbally United in a very entertaining game in Athlunkard. Sean ONeiil in goal for us was ably helped by Rian Quirke, Eoin Kirkland and Scott Kennedy. Niall McGuane scored two for us and Cian Costlloe led from mid-field, while Greg Nash and Alex Dunphy, Alex Gibson, Hollie ONeill, Ben Kennedy all played their part.
Athlunkard Villa were our opponents in the FAI cup and we just managed to field a team, with Derek Moloney's short lived retirement giving us 12 men on the day. Despite the final scoreline we had a number of players who stepped up and gave their all on the day. While our consolation goal from a Will Birrane free kick was our highlight on the day. Those to try hardest were Conor Costelloe, Donal Walker, Derek Moloney and Will Birrane.
2 of our 3 teams were in action this week, with the other game called off.
On Wednesday the U12s played Ballynanty Rovers and lost 3,1 with our goal coming from Thomas Hickey. Others to play well were Luke Phayer, Aidan Kearney and Killian Ahern. Friday's U11 game was off. On Saturday the U10s were first into action. This was a game where half the panel were playing in their first game and all played their part.. Best were Sean Campbell in goal, Rian Quirke, Scott Kennedy and Jaden Sanchez. Next in action were the U12s and despite losing 5,2 with goals from Luke McSweeney and Liam OConnell, we have hopes of this side improving. Best were Callum Fitzgerald, Aidan Kearney and Stephen Walsh. Please check the fixtures on the fixtures and results page |
