The U11s played Fairview Rangers B on Saturday in the Fairgreen. This was the first of 2 Silent Saturdays and the team showed that are learning fast. We were on top for most of the game, although we allowed Fairview back into the game twice. Niall McGuane (1), Matthew ODonovan Quane (2) and Thomas Hickey (1) were to the fore on a day when we were short a number of regulars. There was a minutes silence before the game to mark the passing of Eion Sarsfield's grandmother.

The U12s were below par in this game as they lost 4,nil to neighbours, Corbally. A number of the players had played a School rugby game in Cork prior to turning out for the club. Those to shine were Luke Phayer, Liam OConnell and Jamie McMahon
The U10s were a little unlucky against a stronger Summerville side, in which Cian Costelloe (2), Niall McGuane (1) and Sean Campbell were our stars on the day. The Juniors were below par in this game against St Pauls. St Pauls took the lead from a spot kick and Steve McDermott scored just a few minutes later to level, but that was as good as it got. Some slack defending and an overall lethargy showed in our efforts.
The U11s were in action on Saturday against Mungret/Regional. This was a very good performance and showed that the players are improving each time. Keepers Sam Gibson and Eion Sarsfield shared the keeping duties, while Cian Costelloe, Liam OConnell (1) and Thomas Hickey (1) were solid in defence. In midfield Eoin McGurran (1), Niall NcGuane, Matthew ODonovan Quane, Jamie McMahon, Callum ODwyer were at their best when used.Up front Stephen McMahon, Cathal Daffy (1), John McKeogh all played their part.
The U12s were unlucky to lose to Mungret/Regional, in Knockalisheen. In an entertaining game we let Mungret get a 2 goal lead before we started to play. We created a number of chances but failed to take them until mid way through the second period when Laim OConnell scored from the spot. This was a good overall effort with the players improving as the season goes on. Best were Luke Phayer, Luke McSweeny and Thomas Hickey.
Earlier the U10s played Aisling/Annacotty and in a very entertaing game the spoils were shared. Those to impress for Parkville were Sean Campbell in goal, Rian Quirke, Holly ONeill, Eoin Kirkland and Ben Kennedy. This squad is improving and it is recommended that if you have time on Saturday mornings to come and watch these young players. It is a very entertaining hour. |
