<![CDATA[Pitch Repairs]]>Sat, 26 Mar 2016 10:43:26 GMThttp://parkvillefc.net/parkville-fc-news/pitch-repairsWe were aware that some damage had been done to the pitch when a herd of cows got in prior to Christmas.
But with mid-week soccer starting next week, we went down to get the pitch ready this week and found out how bad things were.
But Niall Ward, Paddy Kelly and Ken OBrien, rolled the pitch and filled in the worst holes with sand on Friday.

Having given up their Good Friday they worked from 8.30 to after 2oc to get the pitch in playing order.

The 2016 running was no different.
The Singles won out yet again with their youth, Will Birrane had given the singles a lead but David Shine leveled. It took penalties to decide this game.

This year both teams retired to The Daggers Ardnacrusha, and an enjoyable night, talking about past glories and incidents were recalled into the small hours. WE hope that from hereon in that more will attend and bring back the social occasion this started out as.

Our thanks to Ray McMahon and his staff for taking care of us on the night.

<![CDATA[Lawson Cup heartache for Juniors]]>Mon, 25 Jan 2016 11:29:56 GMThttp://parkvillefc.net/parkville-fc-news/lawson-cup-heartache-for-juniorsThe Juniors met Hospital Crusaders from Division 1A at UL on Sunday in the refixed Lawson Cup game. We were in this game up until the final few minutes.
Scoreless at halftime, Shane OBrien put us 1,nil up after 15 minutes of the second period.
Unfortunately we started to tire and with 10 minutes to go we left Hospital in for an equalliser. More disappointment followed when following the dismissal of Mike Worthy for a second bookable offence, Hospital score with just 2 minutes left.
This display shows that we can hold our own in the remaining league games.

I have been busy recently, but I will post a report on our recent Married v Singles game shortly.
Best were Liam Treacy, Tom Kennedy, Kenneth Fielding and Will Birrane.

Best were Sean Campbell, Scott Kennedy, Conor Callinan (1), Niall McGuane (1) and Eoin Kirkland.

The U12 played Fairview Rangers and despite a number of good performances went down 4,0/ Luke Phayer, Jack Flannagan and Jamie McMahon were our best on the day.

The Juniors were back in league action and were losing 1,nil at halftime but things did not improve as we went down 4,nil.]]>
<![CDATA[U11s too good for Fairview Rangers.]]>Mon, 26 Oct 2015 16:21:32 GMThttp://parkvillefc.net/parkville-fc-news/u11s-too-good-for-fairview-rangersThe U11s played Fairview Rangers B on Saturday in the Fairgreen. This was the first of 2 Silent Saturdays and the team showed that are learning fast. We were on top for most of the game, although we allowed Fairview back into the game twice. Niall McGuane (1), Matthew ODonovan Quane (2) and Thomas Hickey (1) were to the fore on a day when we were short a number of regulars. There was a minutes silence before the game to mark the passing of Eion Sarsfield's grandmother.]]>
